1. Brampton Fairtrade Town Group - Speakers and AGM
This is advance notice of an event on Thursday 4th October
2007, at Brampton Community Centre, Union Lane, Brampton at 7.00pm
The 'Birth Place of Coffee', a presentation by two members of
the Keswick Fairtrade Campaign who visited Ethiopia in October 2006.
The 30 minute talk will be followed by a break for sampling
Fairtrade food /drinks and then the AGM.
2. 2007 Fair Trade Fair - call for volunteers
We will be holding a Fair Trade Fair in a marquee in
the cathedral grounds during August Bank Holiday again this year.
The dates and time are 10am to 4pm Saturday 25th and
Monday 27th and 11.30 to 4pm Sunday 26th August.
Unfortunately Torrey is not available to keep the
Prior's kitchen open on the Sunday and Monday and so we are looking for
volunteers who would help to serve food which she will have prepared in
the Prior's Kitchen on these days.
We will also be looking for volunteers to help on the
stalls in the marquee for a morning and/or an afternoon session and setting up
and clearing the stalls.
It would also be useful to have volunteers to help with
setting up on Friday afternoon and clearing up after the event on Monday.
Any enthusiasm for helping us with publicity would also
be very much appreciated.

It's time for you to get involved:
- Attend the rallies in major cities across
the UK.
- Join the march when it passes through your
area.

New leaders, same
old problem |
|
Gordon
Brown's finally got his hands on No.10 and Portugal is the new head
honcho of the EU but the issues of injustice stay the same. Europe is
trying to force 76 poor countries to sign to unfair trade deals. We
need you to urgently fax the new development secretary and the
Portuguese PM to stop these unjust deals going through. |
