1. Film Evening -  An Inconvenient Truth - 18th October

COWC's first film evening at 2 Lowthian's Lane will take place at 7:00pm on Thursday 18th October.

We will show the Climate Change documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". This will be followed by a discussion. Please could you confirm your attendance by phone or email.

 

2. Coffee and Chat at COWC - 1st November

The second Coffee and Chat session will take place at COWC on Thursday 1st November at 10:30am. Olive Cronie will facilitate a discussion on contemporary issues from Climate Change to Zimbabwe.

 

3. Other Meeting Dates at COWC - All are welcome

As autumn draws in, don't be glum - check out all the latest news from the Fairtrade Foundation! It's bound to brighten up your day!
Fairtrade Foundation Campaign Days - last chance to register!
Conference  We held our first Campaign Day in London on Saturday, but there are two more to go and places are still available. They take place in Birmingham on Saturday 6 October and Newcastle on Saturday 13 October.
The events offer you the opportunity to learn more about Fairtrade, gain new skills and network with other campaigners. For more details and to register online, check out the website.

You may already be aware of the Fairtrade Town Yahoo Group, where people involved in Fairtrade Town campaigns can ask questions and exchange ideas - if not, check it out here.
There is now a new group for Fairtrade Places of Worship, so if you are trying to get your church, synagogue or other place of worship involved in Fairtrade join the group here and share your plans. You can also be our friend on Facebook and watch videos about Fairtrade and upload your own clips on our YouTube channel.

 
Fairtrade reaches new heights

 

Virgin Atlantic has recently announced that it will be serving only Fairtrade tea and coffee to passengers. The airline served nearly 7 million cups of coffee and over 5 million cups of tea on board flights in 2006 so a switch to these products will be a significant boost for farmers who supply the Fairtrade market. Ubuntu is the first cola in the UK to be licensed with the FAIRTRADE Mark, made using Fairtrade sugar from Malawi and Zambia. For more information and to find out where it is stocked, check their website. There are now over 3,000 Fairtrade products available!! More details here.
