Carlisle One World Centre (COWC) is a local charity addressing global issues, seeking to:
Raise awareness of the interconnectedness of local and global issues, and how our actions - as individuals, as communities and as a nation - affect the world
Educate people of all ages about the issues facing people in developing countries
Support the economically and socially deprived, both locally and globally
Campaign for justice throughout the world through a programme of education, awareness-raising and practical activities

by Robert Skidelsky and Edward Skidelsky and Enough is Enough by Rob
Dietz and Dan O'Neil. All welcome - even if you haven't managed to read
either book.

COWC Food and Hunger Year 2013-2014 Our 2013-14 theme is Food and Hunger around the world. We took part in the Enough Food for Everyone IF Campaign and learned more about it at our AGM in June. We are going to continue working with our campaign partners to promote the message than 1 in 8 people in the world going to bed hungry each night is unfair and should not be happening when there is enough for everyone.
We will also promote local food initiatives such as
the
Carlisle Foodbank and
Fair Food Carlisle.
